| About Claudia |
| Claudia began both her love affair with Paris and her career in 1993 when she
opened a shop in New York City's East Village. In stark contrast to the dark
neighborhood, it flowed with French boudoir furniture and accessories. She painted and repaired her flea market
finds, reincarnating them into the sparkling treasures. The trendsetting shop drew celebrities, clients and
designers, and generated the attention of magazines and
newspapers such as The New York Times, Metropolitan Home, House Beautiful
and many others.
She was approached to write a decorating book showcasing her style by Judith Regan in 1995 and together they both published
their first decorating book.
'The Paris Apartment' has since become a staple for decorators and designers, both novice
and professional. In her book, she shares her techniques and design concepts for creating a beautiful boudoir. She continues to build her company and its vision by
pursuing a fresh and eclectic mix of vintage, Parisian and Art Deco styles. Her hallmark is "playful, romantic
and luxurious interiors". (NY Times)
Today Claudia runs The Paris Apartment showroom in New York and travels to Paris twice a year,
taking small groups shopping and sharing
her resources.
She's working on other books as well as articles for magazines, decorating projects, a line of
custom furniture and bedding. TPA's signature line of silk pillows and sheets has received recognition from the
textile industry and was among those awarded Best in Show at the New York City Home Textile Show.
She has also been the online decorating expert for About.com and Elle.com.
Ultimately, at the The Paris Apartment, the mission is to deliver wonderful products that will become heirlooms.
Each piece is made or sold with the hope that it reflects the individual's personal style.
Claudia is happy to exchange information and ideas and hopes that everyone will
have the home of their dreams no matter where or what size.
